Dennis Justus was a WHSVOA member for over 35 years.  He was always willing to give his time to help the association and the growth of new volleyball officials.  He had a love of passing on his advice and expertise to new upcoming officials.

 

He was a Veteran with the US Army Reserve. He served as a Police Officer with the Milwaukee Police Department and in 1995 he retired after 31 years. Dennis was completely full of life until his last day. Anyone who knew him could not avoid his large personality and huge heart. No one was exempt from his teasing. He talked to EVERYONE.

 

In his memory, WHSVOA awards the Dennis Justus award each year.  The award is given to a new official (1st – 3rd year) who shows dedication to officiating and the growth of the association through self-improvement and attendance at WHSVOA events.  The recipient is given a year of membership at no cost in memory of Dennis Justus.
